Why Notion works for D&D

Notion's database relations are the killer feature for tabletop campaigns. When you link an NPC to the Location they live in, you can open the Location page and see all NPCs there — and vice versa. This is impossible in Apple Notes, Google Docs, or even Obsidian (without significant plugin work).

Plus: Notion's mobile app means you can quickly add a session note without breaking immersion at the table.

• Free generic "D&D Notion template" (no name, GitHub) — too sparse, no relations
• $30+ "Ultimate DM Notion Template" — bloated with sections we never used
• Several Pinterest-pin-shaped Notion templates that looked good but had broken relations
